~This allows you to choose the **format** of the message (HTML/text only/both). Please note that depending on the options you have offered on your [[EditSubscribePageInfo subscribe page]], your users will have been able to choose messages in either text or HTML format. You can find additional explanations when you click on the question mark ('**?**'):
**If this message has been formatted in HTML**, indicate how you want to send it:
-**HTML** : HTML to users who have indicated that they want to receive their emails in HTML format, and text to everyone else.
-**text** - text-only to everyone
-**text and HTML** - One single email that contains both the HTML and the text-only formats (this 'multi-part message is larger, but is more likely to work for most users). **Note:** Since version 2.10.5 the "Text and HTML" option is no longer displayed. Instead, all HTML messages will be multi-part messages, i.e. containing both the HTML and the text-only format of the message.
-**PDF** - The text message as a PDF attachment
-**text and PDF** - One email that contains the text only message with a PDF attachment. **Note:** the PDF version will be a conversion of the text message, not of the HTML message. PDF generation requires that you activate this feature when you [[PhpListConfiguration install and configure]] phplist.

Additionally to [CONTENT], you can add [FOOTER] and [SIGNATURE] to insert the footer information and the signature of the message, but they are optional. Remember to clear the footer of the message if you are using the [FOOTER] placeholder, otherwise you will receive the footer twice.

~This feature allows you to send a test message to the email addresses typed in the empty field (use commas to separate addresses). All email addresses must correspond to a [[UserInfo user]] in your system.
This feature is particularly useful if you have complex messages with several placeholders, links or HTML formatting. What you see is not necessarily what you get, so send yourself a test message to see what the message looks like. The placeholders will be replaced by the values in the file of the user who will receive the test message. If the user is John Doe, and you send John Doe the test message, the placeholder [NAME] will be replaced by... John Doe.
Note: you will receive automatically **two** test messages: one in plain text, one with HTML formatting. When you send the message normally, users will only receive one version (the one they prefer/you chose for them).
